Tom DeSimone has crafted a masterpiece that transcends the usual gay porn movie by carefully integrating a well-written story, plot, narration, superior cinematography, music, and the necessary sexual action, all combining in a film that approaches Hollywood's finest classics.
Dust Unto Dust has been likened to a gay Dances with Wolves in its depiction of Native Americans as noble and heroic, and in holding out the possibility of two cultures and peoples learning and benefiting from sharing. Damon Rosi portrays a white settler on Indian land who grows up lonely and isolated and bereft of love.
One day he is discovered by two beautiful Indian brothers (No Name, a half-breed, and young Broken Wing) who themselves have been left behind by their nomadic tribe because of their homosexuality. Any good movie requires a suspension of disbelief, and though we know how gays or "two-spirited" persons are honored and cherished in Native-American culture, it is a small adjustment to make for the lavish and moving tale that unfolds.
The white settler's presence mocks their loneliness and isolation, and having his love and attention comes to represent validation and triumph for them. At first, No Name and Broken Wing work together to bridge the communication gap, but the white settler lacks reference points for the "magic" to which they allude.
Finally, Broken Wing tracks the settler as he drinks from a babbling brook, and tenderly takes him by the hand, leading him into the pleasures of the flesh that only two men can share. What follows surely is one of the most erotic, sensuous and lustful pairing captured on film as these two gorgeous, long-haired, muscular men kiss, lick, suck, 69, hump, touch, and make passionate love.
Enamored, the settler loses interest in his planting, carving and home-steading in favor of his new-found love. In proportion to the couple's cocooning, No Name's feelings of exclusion and abandonment grow, and he decides violence is the solution to his hurt. In dramatic tension, No Name and Broken Wing fight, not only over the love of a white settler, but over an older brother's place.
Taller and more fit, No Name wins, and takes the settler violently by the campfire. Broken Wing surely has been an excellent teacher as No Name and the settler cavort with a rapturous energy. The smooth, bronzed native pounds the white settler's steely buns hard, and DeSimone offers us incredible photography. Broken Wing punishes himself to voyeur their raunchy sexplay, and as tears stream down his face, the settler recognizes that, indeed, Broken Wing genuinely loved him, and his feelings surpassed those merely of the flesh.
Broken Wing and No Name meet for a final duel, and in the process actually do resolve their age-old dilemma by freeing their spirits to romp and play in a ethereal and playful three-way of dancing, acrobatic cock-sucking, and foreskinned pleasures.
A triumphant commentary on the scarcity of love, and spiritual solution to denial of love.
